These can be used in a sandwich for a burger or served hot out of the oven with tomato sauce over them and served with a vegetable and a salad

Oat Nut Patties

3 C cooked rice
2 C chopped raw nuts (pecan or walnut)
1/3 C ground flax seed
2/3 C water
1 Tbl garlic powder
1 Tbl onion powder
1/2 tea sage
2 tea oregano
2 C water
1 tea salt
3 C rolled oats

Mix and heat in a saucepan 2/3 C water and flax seeds for a couple of minutes. Mix this with other ingrediants in mixing bowl. Form into patties and bake on a cookie sheet that has been dusted with whole grain flour. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Turn over and bake another 10-20 minutes until lightly toasted. Makes about 10 patties.

For a more peppery taste increase the sage to about 3/4 tea.
